SWIMMING LIKE A FISH

I first wasn´t interesting in swimming because I had to do it as a therapy for my back. I started doing it when I was five at Gimnacia y Tiro club. After a few months I’ve been doing it, I was kind of a water lover. Of course it took me some months to learn how to swim.

A few years after, I was taking part in competitions. I won a lot of medals and certificates as well. I loved swimming; I loved the feeling of being under the water and move like a fish.

I have done swimming since I was five until I was fourteen. One day when my mum told me that I wasn´t going to do more swimming I started to cry a lot, because I felt that the pool was my place. I felt like a fish in the water, like a dolphin which can do a lot of pirouettes, like a mermaid who can talk with fishes. Now it has passed five years since the last time I´ve been under water but I still have alive my dream of being at the Olympics; and I know I will be there someday.

I´d recommend it as a hobby because you can make friends, travel to new places, improve your skills and also is a healthy activity.

Hello Anne,

Thanks for your email. I can´t wait for you to be here! From my point of view, summer is the best time to visit Salta.

For meeting people of our own age, you can go to Balcarce street. For you to know, there are a lot of discos and pubs where you can meet boys, beautiful boys! If you don't like crowdy places we can go to a bar in 9 de Julio square or to a V.I.P. party with my closest friends.

Don't bring too much clothes. In here, summer days are hot and at night you can wear a light jacket. so I suggest you to bring more t-shirts and shorts than lots of jackets and jeans.

I would like to travel around with you, thank you for inviting me! We can go to Jujuy to visit La Quebrada de Humahuaca, Purmamarca, Salinas, etc.  There are wonderful landscapes you´d fall in love with. Also here in Salta there are exciting things to do, like fishing on Cabra Corral dam or going to San Antonio de los Cobres on the Tren a las Nubes. Just send me another mail to know when you're coming.

All the best,
Cadmiel

QUIRQUINCHO AN ENDANGERED ANIMAL

Quirquincho is an animal originary from the north of Argentina, but it’s also found trough Latin America till the U.S.A. The tiniest quirquincho measured fifteen centimeters (contemplating their tail) and the longest measured a meter, without contemplating their tail. It is known for their bony armor that allows hiding. It has big ears and nasal tube with small bony plates, hands with large claws on all four fingers. Its body is yellowish gray. Quirquincho release the female have a litter of pups large, as 12 offspring in some cases.
The quirquincho is used in different ways by humans. For example, in some parts of America is used to cure some diseases; for this, people grind their shells to make powder that pregnant women have to drink to have vitamins in their body. Their armor is also used to make musical instruments like charangos. When people kill them to make this instruments or poisons they sell their meat because is edible, or vice-versa. Some people say that it’s like chicken or pig meat.
This tiny beautiful animal regrettably is endangered species, because people do not care about the use they give to it. But, humans don´t think about the animal, they only care for their pocket money as it is a very expensive animal. It’s important to know that hunting is only allowed to people who use it for their survival, it means, only for domestic uses.
In Salta the Ministry of Environment asked people to become aware of what is happening. The Minister in a statement said: "Our responsibility is to conserve all wildlife; they are a critical resource for preserving ecosystems of Salta. Collaborate with this task, do not consume quirquincho".
So, let’s help the wildlife and no more dinners with quirquincho’s meat!
